Since starting her virtual assistant practice, The Blue Jeans VA, in early 2008, Marta Goertzen has worked with coaches and small business owners across the US, Canada and as far away as Sweden & Switzerland. A common thread throughout her work as a Virtual Assistant, has been a request for a simple website solution that is easy to maintain with the flexibility to grow with their business. From this has stemmed a love and fascination with WordPress and all it has to offer.
Marta enjoys helping business owners who are feeling a little overwhelmed managing (or getting started) their website and online presence. DoItYourselfWordPress.com was created out of a desire to help entrepreneurs learn to create their own simple yet highly effective websites.
Born and raised in Oregon (with a short 3-year stint in Alberta, Canada in grade school), Marta can’t imagine living anywhere else. She lives with the furry guy in the photo, a 4-year old Border Collie mix named Bailey whom she adopted from a local animal shelter shortly after starting her business. Together they they love to explore the Oregon Coast, go hiking and camping and long walks at the park.
